Ok I own a lot of guitars. Some I like more than others. Right out of the box, this guitar was set up decently. The one thing that will catch your eye is the amazing finish on this guitar. It is one of the most unique and beautiful paint jobs I've seen on a guitar. It even beats the finish on some of my made in the USA Gibson Les Pauls! It is a metallic looking light blue with sparkle in the paint. The pictures of this guitar don't do it justice.
The pickups are decent. The sound close to some of my lower end Les Pauls with Bursbucker Pros. Maybe not quite as much bite, but they sound great. I think the guitar also sounds so good because it is solid. You will notice the body is nice and heavy and provides amazing sustain. I have no clue if this guitar is chambered like the USA Gibsons, but it doesn't feel like it as it is much heavier than some of my Gibson Les Paul Studios.
You can't beat the price if you are looking for a nice guitar that is a daily player. I bought this guitar mainly for the color, and because I hate risking damaging some of my nicer guitars. Over the last few years I think Epiphone guitars are equal to or better than the quality coming from Gibson USA. I know real collectors will hate to hear that, but QC at Gibson USA isn't what is has been in years past. I've had a few problems with guitar finishes and bad pickup selector switches from USA models. There is not a flaw on this guitar.
I play this guitar through a Boss GT-10 with a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and a Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue in stereo. This set up just rocks and there isn't a sound I can't get out of my rig with this guitar. I'm sure the more I play it the more this guitar will become my regular go to guitar. I wish I could have bought 2! As an Amazon exclusive you won't find this amazing color any where else!
