Guitar For Dummies Acoustic Guitar Starter Pack (Guitar, Book, Audio CD, Gig Bag) customer Reviews :

bought my Kona guitar two weeks ago, after researching the company on the web.

It's just the right size for me, and stays in tune pretty well - very little adjustment on the keys.

I like the digital tuner that's included in the kit. It's much easier than using a pitch pipe.

I would suggest getting a hard case, though. The gig bag isn't padded. More Reviews ....

Jasmine By Takamine S34C NEX Acoustic Guitar customer Reviews :

I was thrilled when my guitar arrived and even more so after I tuned it and began to play.

My guitar is absolutely beautiful. The finish is flawless. And it's got that new guitar smell...ahhhhhh.

It does have a pick guard (that is not shown in the photo on any website or in any catalog) which pleases me. It would be a shame to scratch the surface while strumming with a heavier pick. I read one review on a music vendor's website where the reviewer complained about Takamine and Jasmine printed all over the pick guard. And they were right about that...but I found it very easy to remove all these words by simply peeling off this protective sticker. Dah.

The strings are a little heavier than I like but I'll be changing them in a few weeks anyway.

The sound and craftsmanship is anything but what you would expect from such an affordable guitar and everything you'd expect to pay more for. It has a rich, full bodied sound.

I am now a diehard Takamine fan. More Reviews ....

Gibson Les Paul Studio 60s Tribute Electric Guitar, Worn Satin Ebony customer Reviews :

I can't believe I bought a Gibson sight unseen from Amazon but it worked out very nicely. The satin goldtop finish is beautiful and the biting sound of the P90s is exactly what I was looking for to complement my other warmer sounding hollow and semi-hollow body humbucker guitars. The craftsmanship is first class. Then neck is on the thin side (which is what I was looking for). Things like trim on the neck and I can live without for the price. I understand the body is chambered, which makes it comfortably light. The balance is great. The guitar came out of the box perfectly set up for me. The only downside was a broken zipper on the gigbag. A quick call to Gibson (who has outstanding customer service) took care of that - replacement on the way. A brand new, made in America, handmade Gibson for under $900 - a fantastic value. More Reviews ....

38" BLACK Acoustic Guitar Starter Package (Guitar, Gig Bag, Strap, Pick, eBook) Description :

This guitar has an attractive Black color finish; it's a complete combo package that comes with a guitar case, extra set of strings and a tuner. It's great for beginners; you'll be playing your favorite tunes with practice and dedication.

FEATURES: Full wood construction; Shoulder Strap; Extra set of strings; Great gloss finish; Easy to use tuner; Sturdy carrying case; 38 inches in length; Steel strings; Perfect for beginners

38" BLACK Acoustic Guitar Starter Package (Guitar, Gig Bag, Strap, Pick, eBook) customer Reviews :

Despite some other reviews, i received the guitar on the first date of the estimated delivery.

Out of the box, it did smell a little like a chemical, but by the next day the smell was gone.

The guitar came with a Strap, a Pick, a set of strings, a harmonica, a pitch pipe, and a gig bag. However, i never got the eBook.

The strap is very cheap looking, and short, which doesn't surprise me considering the price of the whole set. The pick is, well it's a pick, nothing really special about it. The set of strings looks good, it comes with all six, although there's no easy distinction between which string being which. The harmonica is okay, it's bigger than i expected, but it works, i don't know much about harmonicas, so i can't really review that. The pitch pipe is in tune, although i doubt they make pitch pipes that don't play the right pitches. Finally, the gig bag is very thin, and the guitar fits snugly into the bag.

The guitar itself is a great quality sound-wise. No fret buzz, very clean and pretty-sounding. But when it comes to the physical features of the guitar, it has more flaws. It looks like it was spray painted black. The fret markers look like little dots made using a paintbrush and white paint. There are places where you can tell the paint dripped, and there's white on some parts of the fingerboard, and black splotches of paint closer to the body, on the fingerboard.

All in all, i think this guitar is worth every penny. It was made clear that there guitars are mass produced, which explains the physical properties lacking. But it's great for starters, and being a starter package, it's meant for beginning guitar players. I would recommend this guitar to anyone who has never picked a guitar up and wants to learn, as long as they don't mind the looks of the guitar. More Reviews ....
