Gibson Les Paul Studio 60s Tribute Electric Guitar, Worn Satin Ebony customer Reviews :

I can't believe I bought a Gibson sight unseen from Amazon but it worked out very nicely. The satin goldtop finish is beautiful and the biting sound of the P90s is exactly what I was looking for to complement my other warmer sounding hollow and semi-hollow body humbucker guitars. The craftsmanship is first class. Then neck is on the thin side (which is what I was looking for). Things like trim on the neck and I can live without for the price. I understand the body is chambered, which makes it comfortably light. The balance is great. The guitar came out of the box perfectly set up for me. The only downside was a broken zipper on the gigbag. A quick call to Gibson (who has outstanding customer service) took care of that - replacement on the way. A brand new, made in America, handmade Gibson for under $900 - a fantastic value. More Reviews ....

Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Junior Electric Guitar, TV Yellow Description :

The famous no-nonsense, one pickup Les Paul Junior electric guitar in a limited edition, Amazon.com exclusive, classic TV Yellow finish. The Les Paul Junior has long been a favorite for everything from down and dirty rock and roll, to meanstreet blues, to raw garage punk. With a light all-mahogany body and a single screaming pickup, this guitar is totally down to business, while surprisingly versatile.

This limited edition model from Epiphone swaps out the more traditional P-90 configuration for a powerful humbucker pickup, and retains the straightforward one volume, one tone knob controls. The guitar features a bolt-on mahogany neck with a SlimTaper profile, a rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets, and premium nickle hardware.

The Les Paul Junior was originally designed to put a high quality instrument into the hands of players with more limited budgets and this limited edition version of it from Epiphone achieves that goal as no other model has before. This classic TV Yellow version is only available in an Epiphone for a limited time.

Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Junior Electric Guitar, TV Yellow Features :

1. A real Les Paul boiled down to the basics with one powerful Humbucking pickup.
2. Bolt-on Mahogany neck with SlimTaper neck profile.
3. Rosewood fingerboard with 22 medium/jumbo frets.
4. Premium hardware including Nickel hardware, compensated wrap-around bridge and covered 14:1 tuners.
5. Limited Lifetime warranty.

Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Junior Electric Guitar, TV Yellow customer Reviews :

Got this for a great price during a recent lightning deal. I read some chatter about the finish not looking like the stock pictures. I don't doubt this, but mine is very close, and I can see a reasonable amount of wood grain showing underneath. I've looked closely for any sort of finish flaws typical of overseas-built guitars, but I can't find anything remarkable. If I'm being picky, I would say the rosewood fretboard has a lightness to it that I wasn't expecting - but that is just natural variations in the wood and after all, it is a budget guitar.

Before it arrived, I had all sorts of ideas about upgrades I would do to the guitar: change out the pots/caps/switch jack with higher quality materials, put new tuners on, new pickup, better quality pickguard, etc. Now having the guitar in-hand, I wonder if any of the above are even necesssary. The pots are responsive and not scratchy, the tuners have very little give in them and hold tightly, all the hardware seems of reasonably high quality. All-in-all, I'm happy as-is. If I did see one necessary upgrade, it would be the bridge. The bridge is actually great for what it is - it's a compensated wrap-around style; however, it's not full adjustable. In other words, I can't make fine adjustments to the intonation. There are some sites on the web that sell fully-adjustable wraparound bridges for around $30-$40. Switch them out, and you're done. If you had a little more money, maybe think about replacing the plastic nut with bone - would be nice, but not necessary. If you're the really adventurous type, consider swapping the pickup out with something like a Seymour Duncan Phat Cat (humbucker sized P90) - that's my plan anyway!

If you're on the fence about this guitar, don't think twice. I think even at the regular price of ~$150, this is a solid buy. Certainly a great starter instrument for a serious youth, and a fun guitar for more experienced players who just want something to knock around with on the back porch. More Reviews ....

Combo 39" Black Electric Guitar with 10 Watt Amp, Guitar Case & More Accessories customer Reviews :

First off, let me start by telling you that I am a seasoned guitarist. I have owned over a dozen guitars in my lifetime and, believe it or not, this one wasn't the worst I ever owned. The body looks and feels absolutely great; there were a few minor imperfections, but nothing you would notice without a judging eye and possibly a magnifying glass. While the action came a little high for my taste, I am planning on adjusting it to better fit my needs. Most new guitars come like this, and online videos can help you learn to properly adjust the action. All of the switches and knobs work very well. The strings are completely terrible. Do yourself a favor and buy a pack of new strings before you even bother tuning the ones that come with it. They will begin breaking within an hour of use and will feel like razor wire on your fingers. The machine haeds are pretty low quality, but they do the job. The pick that comes with the guitar is the worst pick I have seen in my lifetime; just throw it away and pick up a few of them while you are buying the new strings. The amp is AMAZING; it is very loud for how small it is and it sounds very crisp and bright. The chord, while short, is pretty nice. The gig bag is okay (it isn't padded, but I wasn't expecting it to be). The strap is a little scary (quality wise) but it hasn't broken on me yet. Overall, this product is ROCKIN! AMAZING QUALITY, especially for the price. BUY, BUY, BUY! I would have paid well over $150 for this baby in a store, and that's without all the extras that come with it. Great investment for anyone on a budget! More Reviews ....

I have two Fender Guitars. A Telecaster and a Stratocaster Standard. The only thing I did not like was the Rosewood Neck on the Strat. I replaced it with an Ebony neck.
These guitars are bullet proof, I play them for hours on end with out any problems. Care to them is simple, clean them, tune them and replace the strings. Nice guitars More Reviews ....

This is a great guitar. If you want a Les Paul styled guitar this is your guitar. Epiphone Special-II Les Paul Player Pack, Ebony customer Reviews :

I have to say, I bought this same guitar(just the guitar) at guitar center a while ago for $150. I play professional gigs for guitar and bass and i'm defiantly not a beggineer, but I needed a guitar because i had been playing my brother's Strat(NOT A SQUIRE,NEVER GET A SQUIRE)for most of the gigs, so with money i had left over from the gigs i thought this guitar sounded good, feels good, and for the price-is good. Its not anything near a real epiphone LP, and defiantly not a real GIBSON les paul. Also buy new strings for it too, because in warehouses and after heat gets to it, the strings are very fragile- I recomened Ernie Ball Strings, they're only $3.95. More Reviews ....

Squier by Fender SP10 SE Special Guitar with Amplifier, Brown Sunburst customer Reviews :

Overall I think this is a good starter kit.
the body seems to be great, the neck and frets are good; the only bad part is the head, it's rough and could have been finished way better, not well sanded , rough spots around the edge and not much finish - no gloss to it at all.

seems to tune up ok and play ok, the only buzz i hear so far is my novice fingering.

the electronic tuner had no real instructions to speak of so i found a you-tube video that told me what to do.

the dvd is a cut down version and imho is missing what the new user needs the most - HOW TO SETUP and HOW TO TUNE!

the "Pick Sampler" well really they just put in 3 medium picks that were only different in color, it would have been better if they gave us different ones like hard, medium or whatever...

the amp seems like a good first amp.

like i said this seems fair as a starter.More Reviews ....

Silvertone SS10 Citation Guitar & Amp Package (Liquid Black) customer Reviews :

I've been trying to seriously begin playing the guitar for a while, and I bought this one in hopes that spending money on an electric would motivate me more than just using the acoustic that I never had a rapport with. I bought this Silvertone as a starter kit, just looking for something solid and inexpensive. I settled on this one because most of the other guitars in the price range were Austin Bazaar, and Austin Bazaar seems to make very low-quality starter kits in hopes that people who don't know better will buy them.

This guitar has done exactly what I wanted, I can't stop playing it. It comes with everything you need as a beginner--it's already stringed (with light gauge strings, which are good to start with), has a spare set of them as well, picks, amp, tuner, and cable. The only thing you could possibly want added would be a distortion pedal, but a beginner has bigger things to worry about.

I have had no problems at all with the guitar. It is solid and well-built, very satisfying to play. This is probably the best deal you can find on a starter kit. More Reviews ....

Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Studio Electric Guitar, Pelham Blue customer Reviews :

Ok I own a lot of guitars. Some I like more than others. Right out of the box, this guitar was set up decently. The one thing that will catch your eye is the amazing finish on this guitar. It is one of the most unique and beautiful paint jobs I've seen on a guitar. It even beats the finish on some of my made in the USA Gibson Les Pauls! It is a metallic looking light blue with sparkle in the paint. The pictures of this guitar don't do it justice.

The pickups are decent. The sound close to some of my lower end Les Pauls with Bursbucker Pros. Maybe not quite as much bite, but they sound great. I think the guitar also sounds so good because it is solid. You will notice the body is nice and heavy and provides amazing sustain. I have no clue if this guitar is chambered like the USA Gibsons, but it doesn't feel like it as it is much heavier than some of my Gibson Les Paul Studios.

You can't beat the price if you are looking for a nice guitar that is a daily player. I bought this guitar mainly for the color, and because I hate risking damaging some of my nicer guitars. Over the last few years I think Epiphone guitars are equal to or better than the quality coming from Gibson USA. I know real collectors will hate to hear that, but QC at Gibson USA isn't what is has been in years past. I've had a few problems with guitar finishes and bad pickup selector switches from USA models. There is not a flaw on this guitar.

I play this guitar through a Boss GT-10 with a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe and a Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue in stereo. This set up just rocks and there isn't a sound I can't get out of my rig with this guitar. I'm sure the more I play it the more this guitar will become my regular go to guitar. I wish I could have bought 2! As an Amazon exclusive you won't find this amazing color any where else!

Pick yourself up an Epiphone Les Paul hard case while you are at it. Amazon also has great prices on those and it is a smart investment to protect such a beautiful guitar!More Reviews ....

This is a great set up for beginners. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this package again. I can't find anything major to complain about, and my 11 year old son is loving his first electric guitar! An older person or someone who has more experience with guitars in general, may find this package lacking, as they most likely have all those little extras that this Fender comes with. I would recommend looking for a hard case, as I feel that the jam bag that comes with the guitar, won't protect it as well as a regular case. All in all, a great value! More Reviews ....
